Lee Britton, a PhD student in the NRPOP Laboratory, recently presented at InterSpill 2025, where he was identified as a emerging leader as a result of his ongoing doctoral research, which focuses on how oil can bind to beach sediments during an oil spill and form sub-surface contaminated areas. At InterSpill, Lee presented a manual on the detection and delineation of sunken oil that he co-authored, which is fundamental to his current doctoral work at Memorial University.
