Ph.D., M.Sc., B.Sc.
Masoumeh Bavadi obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Shahid Chamran, Ahvaz, Iran in 2006. She then got her Master of Science Degree in Organic Chemistry from Lorestan University, Lorestan, Iran in 2010. During this period, she synthesized novel hybrid- nanomaterials and investigated their biological activities and applications as nanocatalysts in chemical reactions. After that, she worked as research assistance at Persian Gulf University, Bushehr, Iran in 2012-2017. She focused on the synthesis of new types of chemicals for biological applications and performed molecular modelling studies.
She is now pursuing her Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering supervised by Dr. Baiyu Zhang in NRPOP Lab, Memorial University of Newfoundland, NL, Canada. She is currently conducting research on chemical and bio-based dispersant’s impact on the fate and biodegradation of spilled petroleum hydrocarbons in the marine environment at the molecular level.
