Yuan Chen received his bachelor of environmental science degree from Wenzhou Uni, China. From 2005 to 2007, he worked for the Green-welcome environmental protection technology Co., Ltd. He obtained the Master of Environmental System Engineering and Management (MESEM) degree from MUN in 2008. Yuan Chen continued pursuing his Master of Engineering degree (M.Eng) in MUN under the co-supervision of Dr. Kelly Howboldt and Dr. Bing Chen.
He is currently working on a project – Pollution Investigation and Environmental Impact Assessment in the Nut Brook-Kelligrews River Watersheds, which is prepared for Northeast Avalon Atlantic Coastal Action Program (NAACAP), Kelligrews Ecological Enhancement Project Program (KEEP), and Incinerator Road Environmental Committee (IREC). This project aims at investigating the water quality issues due to intensive industrial activities in the Incinerator Road, modeling the pollutants transport and fate in the Nut Brook and Kelligrews River watershed, evaluating the associated impacts on the watershed and local communities, and proposing a watershed management plan.
