A.Moein M. Shahwan obtained his bachelor and master of civil engineering degrees from Manuel L. Quezon University (Philippines, 1990) and National University of Malaysia (1994), respectively. He worked for CMS Engineering Services in Philippines from 1988 to 1989 and Ministry of Housing in Palestine from 1995 to 2007. With a solid background in groundwater modelling and urban planning, he finished his M.Eng study under the supervison of Dr. Bing Chen in 2010.
A.Moein M. Shahwan was incharge of Identifying research requiring issues and aspects in the engineering related to the housing and planning development sector of ministry of public works & housing in Palestine. He is also responsible of ensuring government specified/quality testing of all the materials for housing and building sector as well as Supervising the research, housing and planning work. He holds a number of certificates from attending seminars, such as “building safety and social/ environmental consideration in Tokyo (2006)”, ” advanced seminar on tools for the integrated management of coastal areas in the Mediterranean sea (2005)” in Spain, and “Training program for Palestinian construction Managers (1996)” in University of Brighton in UK. Currently, his research interest focuses on modelling and management of water and groundwater resourses in St. John’s, Newfoundland. This research work is also founded by MITACS and InCoreTec.
