NRPOP Students Presented Their Research in CSCE 2019, Montreal
June 16, 2019
From June 12 to June 15, CSCE 2019 Annual Conference was successfully held in Laval (Greater Montreal). During the conference, NRPOP students present their research to the attendants, covered multiple disciplines, and received positive feedbacks.
Yiqi Cao, a first-year Ph.D. student in NRPOP, gave a presentation titled “Engineered Cyanobacteria as a Potential Organic Degrader for Wastewater Treatment,” which focused on the application of genetic engineering in the environmental area. Yunwen Tao, an NRPOP master student, gave a presentation titled “Central Composite Design for Optimizing Derivatization of Metformin and Guanylurea in Water Samples Detected by Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry,” aims at developing novel analysing methods for emerging contaminants.
A presentation titled “Agent-based Stochastic-probability Simulation Modelling for Chemical Reactions in Advanced Oxidation Processes” was given by NRPOP Ph.D. student Xudong Ye during the conference. The research means using novel modelling techniques to assist the advanced oxidation processes.
Along with CSCE, NRPOP will continue working on research and development of novel engineering techniques, and their applications in the environmental area.
